I used Derwent Pastel Pencils, Derwent Watercolour Pencils, Derwent Artists Colour Pencils (Yea, I love derwent), Faber-Castel black and white pastels, Faber-Castel charcoal pencils, half a bottle of fixative spray and an old knife. A3 paper. Hope you like it =)

Comments and Critique are welcome.

Edit on November 15, 2005: I've worked on this piece a bit and submitted a new picture. See the old version here which was finished at October 20, 2005.

I think this piece is great. I love the sketches on the front, especially below the head -- the fur looks so real -- you've arranged the sketches really well so it forms realistic fur. I think the shading on the eyes and the mouth are drawn perfectly by using some pastel colors to add some romantic sides & even some rich feelings inside this work. However, from what I think (in my opinion), there's a lack of variations on the colors of the fur (that is on the body). Maybe you can add more shading, and colors so there are more gradients and depth that are drawn into this piece. And also use some different sketches and make difference between the darker and the light parts so that you can give some volume to the texture. Overall a great job and I love this piece.

This is fabulous! It is everything that cat should be: fluffy, soft, cunning and proud!

The cat is bautiful, but I agree with -fractalspirit- that there could be more shading on the body: while there are shadows and highlights on the head, the fur on the body has just a vague shadow on the left (our left) side.
Still, this drawing catches the "fluffiness" of cat.. :teddy:

this is beautiful! The soft shading works really well, I personally don't think it needs to be fixed. It contrasts well with the strong black patches of the fur.

Thanks very much for the comment! It's hard to impove when someone like your art teacher says "the only thing missing is a signature." The fur was a bitch especially on the right (our right side) probably because the reference looks like that? Thanks again for the comment. It's very appreciated

Thank you very much for the sweet comment
I used Modigliant Multimedia paper (145 gsm). Lots of texture so it was hard to get the surface nice and smooth =P
